Deck Strengths

Deck Weaknesses

As with all farming decks, there is a possibility to draw only farm spells or monsters. In this case, dead draws include:

  • Serket/Temple
  • Vassal
  • 2 Union Attacks
  • 2 Twisters
  • Secret Pass
  • 2 Shards of Greed

That being said, any of the other 10 cards will ensure safety, so the odds of drawing only the above cards for the first 7 turns is extremely low. 

Deck Summary

With this skill-less version of Unhappy Girl, locking down the enemy frontline is optional: you need only keep your LP out of lethal range using Aegis and Spirit Barrier.

Tea is not incredibly threatening, as her highest ATK monster only reaches 2000 sans equips.

Your main objective is to deck out before she does, as well as stop her from boosting her LP above kill range.

Some red flags include Cards from the Sky and Skelengel, which can thin her deck significantly. To this end, you must run draw power of your own. Shard of Greed is recommended, but Crystal Seer also functions well.

Another potential way Tea can ruin your farm is Solemn Wishes. She runs 2 copies which if not dealt with can skyrocket her LP out of control. A double Union Attacked Vassal with BEUD and 1 Unhappy Girl will hit 10,500 ATK, so 2 Twisters can be used anytime before that threshold.

Card Explanation

In standard practice, Unhappy Girl is run in tandem with Tea's Skill, Holy Guard, attacking in order to lock down enemy monsters and prevent them from attacking or switching positions. 

In this Skill-less variant, attacking with Unhappy Girl is not required. She simply acts as a road block that the AI will not attack unless your LP is within kill range. 

So long as you remain in face-up ATK position, the only way Tea can muster enough power to kill is via multiple Dark Witches and Dark Magician Girls. 

Rai-Mei primarily acts as a means to search for Unhappy Girl.

Upon being destroyed, Rai-Mei searches out a 2 star or lower Light monster. Since Unhappy Girl happens to be a 2 star Light monster, she and Rai-Mei work together perfectly, letting you both thin your deck and get UG onto the field ASAP.

Vassal's Effect converts Battle Damage to Effect Damage. This is beneficial two-fold:

  • Pairs well with Union Attack, which transfers the ATK of all other monsters you control to one, but prevents Battle Damage from being dealt 
  • Winning via Effect Damage only is a 1000 assessment point bonus

Be sure to summon Vassal on your last turn; this deck does not use Unhappy Girl to lock down Tea's monsters. If he is summoned beforehand, Tea will target him. 

Allows a monster with 1000 ATK or less to attack directly for one turn. A specialized version of Shooting Star Bow-Ceal that lets low ATK monsters like Vassal attack directly. 

Use on Vassal on your last turn.


Union Attack

Transfers the total original ATK of all monsters you control to a single monster for one turn. The drawback, however, is that you cannot inflict Battle Damage.

This is worked around using Vassal's effect, converting your final attack to Effect Damage for the kill.

Use both on Vassal on your last turn.

Combined with Unhappy Girl, Spirit Barrier ensures that Tea cannot deal any battle damage to you. Activating a single copy is enough to ensure that you stall Tea out. 

When activated, boosts your LP by 3000, the drawback being should this card ever be destroyed, you would take 3000 in damage. Since Tea does not run any spell/trap removal, we are completely safe. 

Aegis alone will solve all LP problems, keeping you well out of lethal range for the remainder of the farm. 

Replacement/Tech Cards

Alternative to Shard of Greed. Gives less draw power, but provides frontline fodder in the rare event that your opening draw lacks Unhappy Girl/Rai-Mei or Javelin/Aegis

Master of Oz

For those without BEUD, Oz can be used instead.

However, if using this option, keep in mind that the final board must be Vassal, Oz, and Rai-Mei in order to break 10,000 ATK with two Union Attacks. 

When attacking directly, the damage Piranha Army deals is doubled. This gives us more flexibility when boosting its ATK, as we need only hit the 5000 ATK threshold for the >10,000 damage point bonus.

For those without Union Attack, the tried and true Piranha / Oz combo can be employed:

  • Any time before your last turn, Fusion Summon Master of Oz
  • On your last turn, summon Piranha Army
  • Use Secret Pass to the Treasures on Piranha
  • Use the spell Gift of the Martyr to send Oz to the Graveyard and transfer its ATK to Piranha
  • Attack directly for exactly 10,000 damage
Gift of the Martyr

Sends one monster to the Graveyard and transfers its ATK to another for one turn. 

For those without Union Attack, Gift offers a more succinct method of attack boosting. When used in tandem with Master of Oz, Piranha Army reaches 5000 ATK exactly, doubling for a clean 10,000.
